Principal: Jared Olsen
I grew up in the states of Oregon, and Utah as the 7th of 11 children. I became an Elementary Teacher after graduating from Eastern Oregon University. I taught for 7 years in 1stand 4th and Title 1. I then moved into administration. I have been an assistant principal or principal for the past 8 years. I love kids and cherish the opportunity to work with them each and every day.My wife Mardine and I have been married for 20 years. We have five children. Our son McKay (18) is currently serving his mission in Guatemala and daughter Emma (16) attends FHS. We have one daughter Lora (14) attending the middle school this year, Lydia (8) attends third grade here at FES. We also have Brenna (5) who kindergarten at The Early Childhood Center. We love living in Fruitland so close to both of our families.
Student Achievement Specialist:Christy Vandeberg
I graduated from Central Washington University in 1992 with a Bachelors Degree, K-8 Elementary Education with a Reading Minor. I worked in the Medford School District for two years teaching third grade before meeting my husband and getting married in 1994. I did a long-term sub in Sublimity, Oregon outside of Salem for three months teaching in a second grade classroom and then subbed for the rest of that school year. I continued teaching fourth grade for two years and a 1st/2nd blend for one year in Harrisburg, Oregon. Our extended family moved to Idaho in 1998 and so we decided to follow. I taught third grade at Fruitland Elementary for five years before coming the Student Achievement Specialist here for the last 12 years. I went back to school and received my Gifted & Talented Endorsement to teach gifted education at this time. I have two boys, and I have been happily married for the last 22 years. I have truly enjoyed the community and can’t think of being anywhere else.
Counselor: Holly Dolton-Wilson
I have always felt drawn to the education field & helping others. Throughout my college years, I was given the opportunity teaching continuing education courses at Treasure Valley Community College for 10 years. During that time, I graduated from the College of Idaho with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Sociology. I furthered my education attending Northwest Nazarene University, completing my Masters in education/School Counseling in May 1995. In the fall of 1995, I was hired as the Elementary School Counselor (K-4) for Fruitland Elementary School. I have been married to Martin Wilson (Fruitland class of 1985) for 20 wonderful years. We have two daughters, one attending FMS & the other at FHS. I have worked at FES for 24 years. I absolutely love my job and come to work excited to see the students every day.
Administrative Assistant: Brye Crockett
I grew up in the Portland, OR area and after High School was a resident of Utah. I have been a Fruitland resident for 10 years & this is my third year with Fruitland Elementary School. My husband is also in education and we have 2 kids, our youngest is at the elementary this year, and our oldest is a Middle School student. I appreciate the strong community support that comes with small town living. When I am not at work I enjoy running, coaching, learning & cooking new recipes, and my dogs Yadi and Ozzie.
Administrative Assistant:Carma McGeheeThis is my 27th year at F.E.S. I was a Title I Teaching Assistant for 16 years and have been an Admin. Assistant for 10 years. I have been married to a wonderful man for 38 years. We are blessed with two amazing sons. Our oldest son & wife live & work in Meridian with our 2 incredible grandkids. Our youngest son lives and works in Payette. I have lived in Fruitland all my life. My husband and I both graduated from F.H.S. and so did our boys. We love the life we have here in Fruitland.
Administrative Assistant/IEP Scheduling/Yearbook: Kitty Phillips
This is my 8th year with Fruitland Elementary. I started with Special Ed as a para, moved to 4th grade as a Teaching Assistant and then I worked as the Computer Lab 1 Monitor for 3 years. This is my first year as an administrative assistant at our newest building, the Early Childhood Center. Here we have kindergarten and preschool. I truly love my job! I am also the unofficial school photographer, I collaborate on the yearbook and I schedule meetings for Speech & SpecialEd. I have been married for 6 years, and have 3 kids. My husband is in education as well. My oldest son attends the high school, my middle son attends the middle school and my little girl is anxiously awaiting the day she gets to go to school too. I am excited for her to come to the “ECC” we truly have a wonderful place for our youngest Grizzlies. Fruitland is a wonderful place to work with a supportive community, and so many helpful parents.
