Literacy Coach: Amanda Forrey

I started my career in education in 2004. I joined the Fruitland team in 2019. I have taught second grade, first grade, reading and math intervention K-3 and writing K-4. I enjoy reading, writing, gardening, camping, fishing, horseback riding, and spending time with my family. I am passionate about supporting teachers, students and families as the Literacy Coach here in Fruitland. My favorite quote is, “Reading is like breathing in, writing is like breathing out” by Pam Allyn.

Music: Jaime Olsen

I teach K-4th grade music and love it! My family and I recently moved here and are proud to call Fruitland home. My husband and I are natives, having grown up in Ontario. We have been away for 17 years where we have lived in Albuquerque, NM, Washington D.C. area, and Logan, UT. We are excited to be back with family. We have three kids who all attend Fruitland schools. It has been fun to be their teacher! I have several years of teaching music. I taught in the Albuquerque public schools for a few years, then quit to become a stay-at-home mom. While I took care of my babies, I also taught private lessons and preschool classes. Directing children’s musicals and choruses was also a highlight. I had the opportunity to sing with the South West Opera company while in Albuquerque. I also was able to participate in several singing recitals and musical theater projects throughout the years. It was fun to do a variety of things, but I am glad to now be full time in a classroom.

I love reading to the students and helping them find new books. I  am married and have 2 daughters.  There are so many wonderful parents and students that make Fruitland Elementary a wonderful place to work.

Art: Tabetha Seebart

I have always appreciated art, but didn’t dabble in creating until 2015. Now I can’t get enough of art, be it teaching, creating, learning and teaching the history, ect. It is a true honor to begin my second year at Fruitland Elementary. I am convinced there is no greater joy than teaching art and seeing the wonder and excitement a child has when they create art after thinking they could not. I am a mother of 3, 1 daughter and 2 boys and have been married 15 years. The students, parents and staff of Fruitland Elementary are amazing and I couldn’t be more excited to get back in the classroom to teach and create! It’s going to be a marvelous year!
