I have just started my 17th year of teaching. I am married, with 3 amazing step-children, my son Owen who is 3, and Jaxon who is turning 2 next Spring and Oliver our caboose. I graduated from Boise State, so of course I love my Broncos! I love to read, listen to music, and dance! I love camping, going for walks, and of course my passion is teaching!
I have been teaching since 1991. I taught at the High School for seven years & during that time I realized my passion was for younger children. I am so glad to have made that change. I have been teaching first grade for 16 years and I love it!
I am married to Mr. Carter, who many of you may have had for High School Math. We have two children. Ryan is married to Lacey and he’s in the army, they live in El Paso, TX. My daughter Megan is married to Kaleo & together my first grand-daughter Myah, they live in Boise. At home we have a dog named Disney. When I am not at school with my ‘little ones’ I enjoy spending time with family, crafting, sewing, decorating, baking and traveling.
I have been teaching in Fruitland since 1998. My husband, Mr. Grimes is also an educator at Fruitland Middle School. We have three children. I enjoy spending time with my family, boating, camping, 4-wheeling, fishing, painting and teaching children how to read. My goal is to instill a love of learning in all my students and provide an environment that makes my students feel welcome, safe, successful, and valued.
I have been here at Fruitland since 2015. My previous experience includes working at Maggie Cordova Elementary in Rio Rancho, New Mexico as an assistant in the special education program for 1 year, general education assistant for kindergarten for 4 years, and a first grade teacher for 3 years. Prior to New Mexico, I taught preschool for 6 years in Washington State. I have gained an understanding of children and a variety of effective teaching strategies. In May of 2012 I graduated with Bachelor of Science with a dual licensure program at the University of New Mexico. This program is a degree in regular & special education. We have 4 grown children & 2 grandchildren. I enjoy traveling(especially to visit them), the Oregon coast & hiking.
I am a Payette High School graduate, TVCC graduate, and received my teaching degree at Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa. This is my 13th year teaching 1st grade and my 16th year at Fruitland Elementary. I am a Dr. Seuss FREAK! My room is decorated entirely in Dr. Seuss and I love March when we get to celebrate his birthday!
I am a Middleton High graduate. I received my Bachelors in elementary education at Boise State University. I have taught at Fruitland Elementary for eight years, three in 3rd grade and five years teaching 1st grade. My husband & I have been married for 5 years we have a 2 year old daughter and a brand new baby boy. We love camping and spending time in Silver City in the summer.
