Assessments
Fruitland High School will proctor the below assessments for the 2022-2023 School Year.
ISAT
The Idaho Standards Achievement Test (ISAT) Comprehensive Assessment System consists of Interim Assessments which are required tests given during the school year to help monitor student progress; year-end Summative Assessment and access to Tools for Teachers which provides resources to teachers to use to improve student learning. Each of these are part of a coherent and comprehensive system of assessment designed to be used together to improve teaching and learning. Fruitland High School will administer ISAT testing after Spring Break 2023.
Civics
Idaho students will be required to take the United States Citizenship Test as outlined in Idaho Code §33-1602.7. Districts are required to assess all students using the questions from the U.S. Citizenship Naturalization Test. Districts may decide how the assessment is given, i.e. multiple choice, question and answer, orally, etc. Districts will also determine the passing threshold a student will need to meet in order to fulfill the graduation requirement. The Civics test will be Administered Spring of 2023 to FHS Seniors.

College Entrance Exams
The SAT and ACT are college entrance tests for students planning to enter 4-year colleges and universities. Most colleges will accept either but it is recommended that students verify with college admissions requirements. These tests should be taken the spring of the junior year and fall of the senior year. Registration materials, test dates, locations, test strategies and practice tests are available in the Counseling Center and online.
PSAT
The PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) is offered once a year in the fall. All sophomores take it for practice for the SAT. Juniors should take it for possible scholarships in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Freshmen are encouraged to take the 9th-grade PSAT offered October 12th.
SAT
The College Entrance Examination requirement, under Idaho Code 08.02.03.105.03, is effective for all public school students in their 11th grade year. Thanks to educational sponsorship, the SAT — the most widely used college entrance exam — is being given for free to all public school Idaho juniors as part of the Idaho SAT School Day initiative. Even better, juniors have the opportunity to take the SAT during the regular school day at their own high school. The Idaho SAT School Day test date is April 12, 2023. Seniors may elect to take this exam depending upon space in the testing session. Payment will be required for seniors to take the exam.
ACT
Fruitland High School will be administering the ACT test for any interested FHS Juniors and Seniors on TBD during the school day. The cost is $50. Students can sign up by paying Mrs. Biggins in the office. Deadline for registration is TBD.
