Who are the Fruitland Honey Bears?
They are the children whose families plan to enroll them in kindergarten at Fruitland Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. The child must turn five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023 in order to attend. They attend meetings at the Fruitland Early Childhood Center, April 12, 2023 and May 3, 2023. During these meetings the children, accompanied by a parent or guardian, will hear a story read by the principal of the school, meet all the teachers, and get to check out the school bus. The parent or guardian will receive important information about preparing the child for school.
When is the first Fruitland Honey Bear meeting?
The first meeting will be Wednesday, April 12th, 2023 from 9:15-10:00 a.m. Please contact Luke Vandeberg at the Fruitland Early Childhood Center (208-452-2444) if you have any questions.
Why should we attend the Fruitland Honey Bear meetings?
By meeting various staff members whom your child will come in contact with on a regular basis, you may alleviate many fears or address questions your child might have about the school. Your child will have a chance to participate in activities designed to support school readiness.
PLEASE NOTE:
Registration packets will be available from the ECC office at the first meeting. Please have a copy of your child’s “STATE ISSUED” birth certificate, a copy of their current immunizations, and all former educational records. We will not enroll students without these documents. If your child is currently enrolled in our preschool program, you do not need to fill out a registration packet.
